Evangeline, a Story of Faith is the biography
of Evangeline McNeill. Raised in Ireland, Evangeline's
family moved to the United States in 1912, narrowly avoiding
passage on the Titanic. Her father, a pastor and evangelist,
relocated to Portland, where he began Hope Hall, which
eventually became Multnomah School of the Bible. Evangeline
married Archie McNeill and together they founded Cannon Beach
Christian Conference center. In 1952 Archie's sudden death
catapulted Evangeline to the helm of a growing ministry. Long
before the days of women's liberation, Evangeline's grit,
determination and unrelenting faith guided her successful
efforts to develop Cannon Beach Conference Center into a
premier Christian retreat touching the lives of tens of
thousands of people.
